By choosing to share your journey and become a member of the shmeco community, you can use a variety of online functions to manage the stories you have shared; the friends you make; and the level of involvement and participation you have on the site. We encourage you to explore and use all of the functions that are currently available. We have future functions in development and we hope to share those with you soon. For the time being we welcome your feedback and comments on how we can improve the site, and what type of functions you think we can add, to make this the most useful site for Sustainable Living.
To get you started this is your Member Homepage and member area. The left hand side "Member Functions" Column is where you can access all of the functions you can use, and where all of your activities are stored. The middle section shows an overview of your activity, in the key functions that you can participate in.

Green Renters is for those striving to lead sustainable and ecological existences within the confines of rental property. Frustrated by constantly attending conferences and exhibitions that only provide products and advice to home owners, we provides advice for those who are unable to make major changes to a property but still intend to spend many years and call somewhere home.
We’re open for contributors, ideas, comments and proposals for projects, especially conversations about policy relating to renters and landlords.
We are available to present workshops, stalls, presentations and panels with a host of tips, advice and home made goodies. Recent activities include workshops in Melbourne, Sydney and Hobart including the Sustainable Living Festival, Going Green Expo and Tread Lightly Eco Fest. We also appear on radio on occasion and have written articles for numerous publications. |

Sustainable house day this year is on 12th September, highlighting 250 homes around Australia that excel in environmental and sustainability standards, sadly there are (currently) no rental properties included in sustainable house day so we thought we would get involved in the best way we could and help any renters who attend! What are we going to do?
- Supply information to the Sustainable House day/Schmeco (The event's organisers) website for attendees to access before and after the event.
- Attempt to have volunteers or information at every house taking part in the event to supply to any renters attending

By volunteering! We would like to have as many people as possible around the country representing renters, their interests and full of advice to help them, please do not hesitate to contact us if you're interested in taking part. |
