Sustainable elements that are featured

External walls
Two north south running walls are bessa block for thermal mass, clad with 75 mm polystyrene which is rendered. East west running walls timber stud clad with 75 mm polystyrene which is rendered.

Internal walls
Two main internal north south running walls are bessa block to add thermal mass.  Other internal walls standard timber stud and dry plaster board or blue board in bathrooms.

Water harvesting
Above ground water tanks.  Two supply garden as well as toilet flushing and clothes washing machine. Grey and black water go into Biolytix system (wet composting system).

Roof
Colour bond pitched with R4 ceiling insulation.

Floor
Thermal mass concrete slab insulated at edges with 75 mm polystyrene.

Window treatments
Glazing is Pilkington Comfort Plus 6mm tinted glass in Stegbar cedar frames.

Heating & Cooling
Passive cooling using cross ventilation. Passive heating via passive solar design and thermal mass. Additional heating with wood heater. House easily zoned for efficient heating and cooling.

Water heating
Solahart frost free thermosiphon type hot water heater

Appliances
Hand basin over cistern of toilet (Caroma) - water saving.
