Representing the “old inner city terrace” home on a 220 square metre block, the primary energy saving is due to location, i.e. walking to shops and taking the abundant buses to work.
After first taking many passive measures to reduce energy consumption, the addition of solar hot water and electricity turned the house into a net energy producer.
