What makes this home special?

  • It is very low energy demand with PV system grid-connect. 
  • It is very low water demand with high level of efficiency of use and 50kl rainwater harvesting. I
  • t has good passive design with 7.2 Star rated thermal performance (far exceeds BASIX min reqts). 
  • It is a sustainable project-style home that breaks ranks with the usual old-style houses, with its vernacular Aussie style, uncompromised passive design and site-specific shading for controlled solar access.   Key features:
  • Passive design is achieved through insulated cavity full brick walls coupled with lightweight walls, all on an insulated concrete slab, high levels of external envelope insulation, large north-oriented double glazing, site-specific shading for controlled solar access, cross ventilation and the layout zoned for varied uses. 
  • In the floor plan, orientation is the primary consideration. 
  • With good day lighting and efficient lighting, operational energy, provided for by the integrated PV system, is minimised.
