Sustainable House Day - Acacia - Beyond Today

southcoast by southcoast one(August 2009) (rank 24th)

The 'Acacia' home is located within the Beyond Today development at Hayborough a unique development incorporating extensive ecological sustainable principles.

The liveability of this home is the key to its success. Passive zoning has been an important consideration in the design of the 'Acacia' with the installation of a Clear Glazed door to the Entry passage, enabling heating/cooling to specific Living areas whilst allowing filtered light and maintaining an open welcoming feel.  Overall contributing to reducing ongoing energy use in the home.

Hi/low cross ventilation into the home has been achieved through the use of glass sliding doors and northern highlight windows to the main living area and these along with ceiling fans to all living areas, maximise sunlight and air flow to maintain a comfortable living environment year round.

The 'Acacia' showcases quality workmanship, fixtures and fittings, liveability, passive design and cost effectiveness, providing an overall sustainable choice for our clients.

This Display Home has recently been awarded the 2009 MBA Excellence in a Display Home $300,000 - $500,000.  To see more our award winning homes visit our website at www.southcoastconstructions.com.au.
